With so many new and exciting product innovations coming to the SAP Business One product line such as SAP Business One analytics powered by SAP HANA, the SAP Business One cloud offering, Version 1.5 of the SAP Business One mobile application – not to mention all the enhancements coming in the core solution and Version 9, how do you keep up and get ready to go to market with these solutions and introduce them to your customers?
I gave this some thought and I believe that the best way can be summarised in 4 steps that you can follow that provides a structured way to come up to speed with these innovations.
The first step – which hopefully goes without saying – is to decide to get involved with the innovations – of course, not all of them may be appropriate for your target market but once you have decided to take on on of these – I suggest the best approach is to take a giant LEAP in to it.
So what is LEAP and what are the steps – well its pretty simple and you are no doubt already taking the first step which is to
1/ Learn – Learn as much as you can about the new solutions and following me on Twitter and YouTube is a good place to start as I will point you to the best resources
2/ Evangelise – Start talking with your customers and prospects about the new solutions and how they can help them achieve their goals – solutions such as SAP HANA are real shifts in how IT can help positively impact on the business processes that customers can introduce – part of our shared job is to understand what and how these new business processes can be implemented.
3/ Adopt – Start to use these technologies in your own organisation – and demonstrate how you use them to run your business – like the team at Leverage Technologies in Sydney who use SAP Business One to run their business and use the CRM capabilities and the SAP Business One mobile application to help them manage their sales process.
4/ Propose – Once you have taken care of steps 1 to 3 – its time to help your customers benefit from these new innovations and propose the solutions – maybe start small with a proof of concept, pick a customer or two and offer them a first mover promotion and get your first reference sites up and running – this will provide a great platform to build on.
So if you are ready to take the LEAP, start today and learn more about the new solutions – there’s lots of places to go – if you aren’t sure where, let me know and I’ll be happy to point you in the right direction – check out the innovations page for SAP Business One on the Channel Partner Portal and visit my YouTube channel for the latest sessions and info on HANA, mobility and more!
