To get you thinking – heres the top 10 video marketing tips to help you along.

TOP 10 MARKETING TIPS

Set up a realistic objective

How many visitors do you want to drive to your site? What conversion rates do you want to achieve? Exceeding your current marketing data will help define success.

Have a clear video purpose

If your video title is “How to choose the right ERP solution in 5 Steps”, don’t talk about your solution before you get to the tips. Communicate your message as clearly as possible.

Create content that is targeted to your audience

Think about your best customers first. What content interests them? What are you constantly demystifying in your sales conversations? Use this information to create videos that target your prospects as directly as possible.

3rd party testimonials

Sure, you can tell people how great you are. But it is priceless to get a customer gushing about you. Note: Third party video endorsements must be compelling, from the heart and with great body language. It’s not what they say but how they say it.

Make it short

People make up their mind in the first 20 seconds. Thus, marketing videos should not exceed two minutes. Just think about how a multi-million dollar, 60 second Super Bowl commercial can perform! If it needs to be longer then 90 seconds you are better off making two videos.

The “call to action” is the purpose

Why create a video if you are not motivating the viewer to do something? Before you even turn on a camera decide what you want your prospects to do. And don’t have a call-to-action that says to “Learn more” and then direct people to a shopping cart. Viewers will get frustrated.

Video marketing is sharing

Putting video on your website is obvious. Sharing it on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter is essential. Social Video Marketing levels the playing field for all businesses so take advantage.

Location, location, location

Position your video on your web page to set up viewer’s expectations. Place it on the top right and it will appear like an ad. Placed on the top left and it looks like something to share.

Analyze your campaign

Use the analytics provided by the platforms and hosting companies to monitor visitor activity. It’s one thing to have your mom tell you how great your video is. It’s quite another to have real data that drives your future campaign.

Test, test and test…

Testing is a key to improving your ROI. But only test one parameter at a time. For instance, test conversion rates with different versions of your video on your site. This way you will be absolutely sure that it was the introduction of a specific video that improved your results.
