It’s Saturday night here in Manila, it’s raining and I am sitting in my hotel room finishing off the admin tasks from running a week of workshops with our partners here in the Philippines. Again, I am reminded why I love visiting the Philippines – we have strong focused partners filled with friendly people, eager to learn and always willing to participate in training to increase their skills.

I also had the pleasure of attending the SME Summit where we launched SAP Business One 8.8 – with a great presentation from one of our customers who had just upgraded from SAP Business One 2007 to 8.8 the week before – in fact they did it overnight on a weekday.

Michael Corpuz, Chief Operating Officer of Mida Food – www.midafood.com – explained why they chose SAP Business One and why they decided to move to the latest release – it was a great presentation and later that day I sat down with Michael as well as Enrique Valles, Chief Commercial Officer and Mart Rentoria, the man behind Mida’s IT systems and we discussed how they could also start to take advantage of the new offerings in the SAP family to start to get familiar with Business Intelligence and determine how they could benefit from the technologies.
I pointed them to BI OnDemand and explained how they could establish a free account and start trialling the technology with SAP Business One at no charge.

Here’s a quick video that shows how to do it.

So it’s quick, its easy and best of all you can access it free and start getting even more value from your SAP Business One solution.

Don’t forget, if you are an iPad or iPhone owner, you can also download the companion solution from the Apple App Store and go mobile immediately with your data.

THe other cool thing that the SAP team here in the Philippines did was that they had exhibition booths from a number of SAP Business One customers around the Grand Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, showing off their products and services – from ice cream (my favourite) and condoms to seafood and biotech equipment, it was a great reminder of the diversity of customers who run SAP Business One today and the partners that support them.
