Its now Friday morning after Spring Training finished yesterday and all the Acumatica partners and team members have returned home after a busy 3 days of learning, networking and socialising.

I had the opportunity to join Acumatica Sales Engineer Doug Johnson (henceforth known as “Desert Doug” Johnson* for his dry sense of humor) for his class on Acumatica CRM and also had an opportunity to present  for 90 minutes on the topic of  software demonstration and presentation best practices but I have to say that the highlight for me was the opportunity to meet with Acumatica partners from all over the USA, Mexico, Europe and even Australia.

As many of you know, I come from the Great Plains Software family back in the 80’s and 90’s and the biggest takeaway for me from that time was the importance of a tightly connected partner community, all working together in a competitive but collaborative spirit – willing to share their knowledge with others in the community and a sense of working together for a common goal to spread the word about the solutions available and how to best use them.

Acumatica partners are in the house!

Acumatica partners are in the house!

I am thrilled to say that that same spirit is alive and well and living in the Acumatica partner community….maybe its the presence of so many of the same partners who shared that same heritage. We have partners from the Solomon (now Dynamics SL) family as well as Great Plains(now Dynamics GP) family as well as former Sage partners, SAP partners and more – plus a whole new generation of folks moving in to the world of ERP software for the first time. And that makes for a great mix of skills, opinions, approaches to business and thoughts on how we can all grow together.

If you put that together with the great technology that sits behind the Acumatica Cloud ERP solution (soon to available as well in a “platform edition” for ISV’s and OEM’s) and you do have , in my opinion, a recipe for success and growth that will benefit customers all around the world.

I, for one, am looking forward to our next opportunity to come together in August in Denver, Colorado for our 2014 Partner Summit…I hope you are planning to be there….I am!
