SAP Business One is no different to the other products in the SAP family. Our product strategy is about On Premise, On Demand and On Device.

Of course the On Premise area is a given with SAP Business One 8.8 available now and Version 8.81 just around the corner (partners can participate in the Preview Program and customers can nominate for Ramp Up), SAP Business One continues to deliver the best integrated business management application for small businesses that want accounting, CRM and business intelligence in one solution.

But the big news of late is around On Device, so I thought I would take a second to talk about what is happening on that front – and the news is just as good there.

Customers who are running on Version 8.8 (Patch 12 or higher) can now download the latest addition to the SAP Business One family – an app from the Apple App Store that allows access to Business Partners, Approvals, Reporting, Inventory information and more. And the best news is that it is free- any user that has a Professional User license can now access their Business One data from an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

SAP Business One App for the iPhone

The solution is built to take advantage of the mobile framework of SAP Business One, which allows partners and customers to also build other mobile front end solutions to access their data without having to worry about the back end integration – we have taken care of that for you.

Of course, thats only part of the story – with mobile access to BI OnDemand, SAP Business One customers can also deliver mobile access to rich dashboards and reports on an iPad or iPhone or of course via a web browser on any internet connected PC or Mac.

And then we have solutions from our Software Solution Partners (SSP’s) like Coresystems who have delivered a mobile application with an even broader array of functionality that is available on the iPhone, iPad and now on the Windows Phone 7 mobile platform , built using Silverlight.

Other SSP’s are also mobile enabling their industry solutions as well, like Enprise with their web enabled Timesheeting for their Job Costing solution.

So small enterprises are not being left behind with these options – taking their SAP Business One solution and their data on the road with them. Even as I type this blog, sitting on a plane to Los Angeles with WiFi access – I am able to access SAP Business One, from specific functionality through to the full client – and for todays small businesses, that kind of access really makes a big impact and drives real business value…and thats why we built SAP Business One.
